Public Opinion: from Boop Trooper Kimmie Overton

6/14/2020 As a young mother, I am finding my self being ‘condoned’ for bringing my children to the protests. Some people have told me that it is child abuse. To them I say this: My children will continue to go to the protests, will continue to march with their brothers and sisters. They will be taught about the injustice of this world, they will see that they can make a difference by supporting and having appreciation for POC. My children and other children will be the difference that will help guide our younger generations into a more inclusive future. I am sorry if you feel like it makes you uncomfortable that my children and other children are there. Maybe you should look inside yourself, and see why you are uncomfortable, and then live in and with your discomfort. My children and I will continue to walk along with BLM movement and be proud and privileged to do so! We will not back down and we will stay in this for the long haul. This is not a fad!! GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND INTO THE STREETS!!! Kimberle (Kimmie) Overton
